Some people say dreams happen only in
fairy tales, but for Jonathan Ambuchi Sila, an African
missionary from the western province of Kenya, one of his dreams
became a reality when he met Deputy Prime Minister, the
Honourable Cynthia Pratt, during a luncheon on May 25th, at the
Seaside Buffet, Crystal Palace Hotel and Casino.
As
a Bible worker, Bro. Sila was able to share the gospel with
persons throughout New Providence Island, and used every
opportunity to educate Bahamians about the effects of AIDS, HIV
and other STDs. While in the Bahamas, Bro Sila spoke to more
than a dozen church congregations and held discussions with
several community groups, including the AIDS Secretariat.
As a
result of his advocacy work in Kenya, the AIDs rate has been
reduced from 17% to 4%. Brother Sila returns home on May 31st.
