According to Ecclesiastes 3, there is a time and season for every

purpose under heaven: A time to laugh, and a time to cry; a time

to love and a time to hate; a time to be born...

Breath of Life Seventh-day Adventist Church came into being on April 24, 1993, following a six-week crusade, held by Dr Charles Brooks, at the H. D. Colburn Auditorium, Wulff Road.  The inclement weather and numerous setbacks associated with the blowing down of the crusade tent – opposite Three Queens Restaurant, Wulff Road – reinforced our faith that God was in control.

It was neither by might nor by power. In fact, the Word went forth with simplicity and clarity. At the end of the day, the Spirit had drawn over 200 persons, who accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and were baptized on April 17, 1993.

Pastor Leonard and Mrs. Denise Johnson were chosen to lead the fledgling church. Charter members included: Kent Price, Admiral and Curline Forbes, Roy and   Terri Dames, Miriam Knowles, Marilyn Bonamy, Anika Ferguson, Rochelle Dames, Marva Moore, Kenneth and Nicky Williams, Kevin and Sharon Robinson, Mary Toote, Ray Jennings, Royann Dames and Alana Morrison.  Our Mission Statement --  "Experience Life Where Every Breath Glorifies God" -- was also adopted..

Our first worship experience was held April 24th, 1993, at the Bahamas Academy Auditorium, Wulff Road. Pastor O. Robinson, from the Breath of Life Telecast Team, conducted it.  In May 1993, the church relocated to Marathon Road where we worshipped for eight years in the Wallace Building. Like most babies, it experienced growing pains. These, however, did not hamper our spiritual or physical growth. Over the years, the church literally flourished under the direction of Pastors Owusu Boateng, Barrington Brennen, Danny Major, Hugh A. Roach and Leo. C. Rolle and Kent Price.

In  October 2000, Pastor Jeremiah and Lady Joan Duncombe took the helm, and the congregation was challenged to develop stronger relationships with Christ through daily prayer, Bible Study, fasting and witnessing. An aggressive church building plan was launched, and in April 2001, Breath of Life took up residence at its present location on Marshall Road. Breath of Life is a force to be reckoned with in the Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.  Her innovative and energetic leadership, unique style of worship and fellowship, and dynamic evangelistic programs make her a beacon of light to a dying world..

After six years under Pastor Duncombe's leadership, Breath of Life received a new leader in the person of Pastor Michael Toote.  Pastor Toote brings his wife, Brenda and children; Michael Jnr., Michelle, Brendan and Brendina.  Along with his family he brings his experience and his deep love for carrying out the mandate of the church.
