Pastor Johnson, a graduate of West Indies College, Andrews University and Reformed Theological Seminary, holds a BA degree in Theology, a MA degree in Religion and a Doctor of Ministry degree. He is married to Denise Cooper of Nassau. She is a professional nurse and a trained guidance counselor serving at Bahamas Academy.  The Johnsons have two children, Larnelle and Darnell.

Pastor Johnson, the son of Doreen Darling and the late Leonard A. Johnson Sr.,  has served in Abaco, New Providence and the Cayman Islands. In addition, he is a former Youth and Education Director of Cayman as well as Youth Director of the Bahamas Conference.
