The Upper Room:

A Good Place To Meet Jesus

On April 29, 2006, The Breath of Life Prayer Center,

better known as "The Upper Room" , was officially opened. Dr. Leonard

Johnson, President of the Bahamas Conference of  Seventh-day Adventists,

delivered the keynote address. His wife, Denise Johnson, also participated

in the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was followed by a tour of the

    10-chamber facility.

A number of dignitaries and community leaders, including Deputy

Prime Minister Cynthia Pratt, were present for the historic event.

The Prayer Center is the brainchild of Pastor Jeremiah Duncombe,

and is the first of its kind within the Bahamas Conference.  In 2005, it was

constructed, along with our Children's Division, by the men of Breath of Life

Church.  Members of the Prayer Committee are responsible for the burgundy and

    and white decor.

Since its opening, the Center has been a popular place, among members

and our community friends, for a daily rendezvous with Jesus. Located on

Marshall Road, it is miles away from city noises and the hustle and bustle of every-

    day life.

A visitor sums up her experience this way: "It gives new meaning to the

term 'prayer closet'.  While meditating on The Word, I was afforded a bird's-eye view

of God's handiwork -- the blue sky and flowering trees -- as the cool breeze caressed

my cheeks.  It doesn't get better than that.  God is truly here."

What is the best time to meet Jesus?

Our doors are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Whether it's lunchtime,

early in the morning, midnight, someone is always available to pray or counsel with you.

Come on down.  It's your time to have a little talk with Jesus.
